ALKALINE POWER GREEN SOUP

One of the fastest to alkalize your body is by loading up on greens. An alkaline body is resistant to all kinds of illness from common colds to cancer. The big C can only thrive and grow and in an acidic body which is created by over consumption of meats, toxic and processed foods.  While the amount of greens required to bring a body back to alkaline state may be hard to consume in plain form, soups and juices allow for more intake and digestion when blended. I love soups and can have them everyday even in the heat of summer. Soups are one of the best ways to enrich your diet and bring your body to an alkaline healthy state. This particular soup is not only highly alkaline but also rich in protein, calcium and antioxidants.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 bunch fresh asparagus, roughly chopped
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 1 bunch fresh kale leaves, roughly chopped
  • 1 fennel bulb, finely diced
  • 1 cup fresh spinach
  • 1 cup green peas
  • 2 celery stalks, roughly chopped
  • 1&1/2 cup low-sodium vegetable stock
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp coconut oil
  • 1 lime, juice only
  • Nuts and seeds of choice to garnish

 

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Heat the coconut oil in a soup pot, add the onion, garlic, asparagus, fennel and celery stalks and cook for 5 minutes over low heat.
  2. Add the vegetable stock, bring to boil and simmer over low heat for 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add the kale leaves, green peas and spinach, and remove from the heat.
  4. Transfer into the blender, add lime juice and process to obtain a smooth cream. Add more vegetable stock to adjust the texture.
  5. Serve warm, topped with nuts and seeds.

For a couple of decades I struggled with being a vegetarian back to eating fish or chicken because I wasn't eating properly and my health and energy struggled. The USRDA which has a vested interest in factory farming and is backed by Big Food is ran by a kind of political totem which favors the bottom line over your health. The marketing of unhealthful foods and trends including "The Paleo Diet" and many others fads that tout a heavy meat biased guideline and corporate food marketing are now finally a major source of controversy and linked to many health issues and cancer.

TRUTH IS MY NAME

The essence of Sat Nam means “truth is my name or truth is my identity” and as a greeting it means “I recognize the divinity within you”. The ultimate truth is not something that can be put into words but is the real heart of who we are as mystical human beings. Our true nature is our divinity and saintliness.  We come from source and are part of source, therefore we are infinitely powerful, limitless and are part of the same cloth.

When we vibrate the sound Sat Nam from the root of our spines through the crown and into the auric field, we are tuning to the sound of the universe and our true essence. The vibration of “Sat” reaches upward the crown into the ethers pulling the vibration of infinity into our awareness, and “Nam” pulls down to the mother earth which creates a manifesting vibration. When the two are connected with this mantra, a direct line runs through the center of the body from the heavens all the way down to middle earth acknowledging the infinite made into manifest.

By chanting or meditating deeply on this mantra you bring into your awareness the truth of  your essence which is part of the creator and can manifest anything that you dream of. Above all it connects you to all other beings on all dimensions creating a sense of oneness. Today more than ever it is important to dissolve the barriers of race, religion, gender and political division. This mantra will work to heal the divides. Don't worry about others. Do the work on you and it will heal the heart of the rest of the world. We are all One and One with the Divine. Enlightenment is knowing this truth.

MORNING CALL

When I sit in my practice and root myself onto the beautiful earth that sustains me, I am grateful for the chance to slow down and dive deep within. I listen to my heart beat, feel the air in my lungs, the blood running through my veins, and contemplate the truth in the spaces between my breaths. I acknowledge my fears, worries, doubts and remind myself that I am part of the creator thus beyond limits and connect back to my source and all of creation.  I take inventory of the day, my triumphs and failures, the moments that brought me pride, joy, happiness and even sadness. I sit with them all in gratitude for I know that I chose this life, this body, this story and every moment is grace. With every breath I am thankful for the gift of life and to live in a healthy body that I am able to use as a vehicle for enlightenment remembering that I chose to forget my ultimate powers in order to play this game of life. I am limited only by my mind and I chose to remember. ✨ Sat Nam

LEAVE IT ALL BEHIND

The last full moon of the year promises to be one of the most powerful ones, equipped with a portal that will serve as a fast pass into 2017. For those that have been doing the work or are ready to fully undress and leave behind all of the muck, negative thought patterns and habits that we have all collectively accumulated, this is going to be a welcoming energy into a new realm of possibilities.

The Gemini Full Moon is about anything that has to do with consciousness, thoughts, communications. 2016 was an incredibly heavy year for the collective and we’ve all had a lot of endings and had to let go of previous ways of thinking and being to connect to new energies calling us in. Use this powerful evening to clear your mind through yoga, meditation, journaling or anything that appeals to you and purge any negative stories/thought streams that you have been holding onto which have hindered your dreams.

An easy technique I like to use around the full moon is writing down everything I would like to clear from my life and then burning it in a safe pot under the full moon. It’s a fun ritual and connects the elements to your purpose thus giving it more fuel. For a more thorough cleansing, use breath work techniques, energy healings, mantra and meditation to fully purge during this powerful moon.

Above all, spend time in self care and nourish yourself with the vibrant energy of the moon and recharge to radiantly walk into the next chapter of your life.
